THE FIRST CHAPTER
Our Beginning
The African Partnership Programme was born from a belief in what Africa can become: an interconnected continent with stronger regional markets, freer trade and the capacity to support its own long-term development. Africa possesses extraordinary resources, skills, industries and entrepreneurial potential. Yet too often, these strengths remain separated by infrastructure gaps, fragmented markets and limited coordination between countries, institutions and industries.
APP was established to help connect these strengths. We envision an Africa in which infrastructure enables people, goods, services and ideas to move more freely; African industries participate more meaningfully in regional value chains; and countries work together to create shared economic opportunity.
Our ambition is to contribute to a continent that produces more of what it needs, trades more effectively within its own markets and becomes a stronger net exporter of African products, expertise, technology and innovation.
The APP Partnership Model APP is not limited to one sector, discipline or form of delivery. We bring together the capabilities required for each opportunity—from infrastructure and industrial expertise to programme governance, strategic coordination and implementation support.
